Pieter-Jan has a diverse knowledge set for IT infrastructure and the translation to business processes and organisation. QA Consultant

As a QA consultant Pieter-Jan has provided support with a large implementation and deployment of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), a High Density Wired and Wireless network infrastructure including an increase in the security level and configuration of the network equipment.

Strategic consultant

Already for a number of years Pieter-Jan works as a strategic consultant with a large IT service provider. He has worked on vision and strategy documents, designing a large life cycle program,  and defined an operating model for IT service delivery. 

Perhaps consultancy alone is not enough. We can also support your organisation in writing IT roadmap documents (strategy), IT infrastructure designs (such as a functional High Level Design, or a technical low level design with the necessary configuration), and if needed, we can also support in the implementation via a project.

Pieter-Jan has more then twenty years of experience in designing of roadmaps and the guidance from design all the way to implementation.

 

IT architect

As an IT architect, Pieter-Jan has supported a shared service organisation with their lifecycle process of their IT datacenter. It started from a consultancy whether or not to go to the cloud. The customer decided for a Microsoft AzureLocal deployment. Pieter-Jan has supported the implementation project in roles as project lead, IT architect, and implementation of the new network infrastructure. Part of this lifecycle is also the process to migrate to a new netwerk infrastructure.

 

Netwerk architect
As a network architect Pieter-Jan has created and designed roadmaps or network architectures for a number of organisations. Besides design and roadmap, Pieter-Jan has supported the implementation of that architecture as well. These tasks were all project based and varied from a redesign of an ICT network infrastructure with increased security at an educational organisation, the design of a geographically redundant datacenter with fallback to the design, support and implement a new network infrastructure, including IPv6 support, at a SME within logistics. Throughout these projects Pieter-Jan has used and gained experiences in Cisco Firepower, Cisco ASA, Cisco ISE, Nexus Switches, Enterprise switches, Quality of Service, dynamic routing, Wireless Infrastructures, DNS, DHCP, Prime Infrastructure, DNA Center, VMWare , Hyperflex and several cloud providers.

There are plenty of IT-related courses on the market to train you or your employees. But these courses are generic and not customised to your specific situation. A customised training, specific for you and your organisation is a more effective way to gain knowledge on a specific technology as the training is made for the specific needs of your organisation. Pieter-Jan can create and deliver these type of trainings to your employees, with enough experience from the field to make the training practical and educational.

Firepower deep dive

An internal training within Yaworks about Cisco Firepower, where the concepts and technology of Cisco Firepower Threat Defense architecture was delivered in a morning session.

 

ASA Firewall maatwerk

A training was given to a payment provider to introduce the Cisco ASA firewalls in their data center. The training included lab-exercises where, in contrast to other trainings, parts of the configuration had to be made by the employees.

Sometimes a customised training is too much, in which case a short session where a technology or concept is explained good enough. This could be a session where Pieter-Jan delivers a short presentation; of course aligned with you, or it could be a smaller setting such as a whiteboard session where interactivity is key to achieve a specific goal together.

Pieter-Jan has been speaker on a number of conferences. He has spoken at multiple times at Cisco Live about the organisation of change and his Cisco Press book "Transforming Campus Networks to Intent-Based Networking".

 

Pieter-Jan is also active as a Cisco Insider Champion since 2017. The program is organised from Cisco and entails about 250 experts and professionals on IT networking worldwide. All champions are active on social media, blogs and enthousiast to share their knowledge and expertise with others and learn new technology.
